Internship

One of the best ways for students and young professionals to get involved with GCI’s work is to intern in our Kumba office. Interns play an integral role in our programmes and initiatives, and they are an enormous asset in the organization’s administration and development. An internship at GCI is a great opportunity to complement different courses of study, to build on professional experience, to learn more about human rights, and to actively participate in furthering social and political justice in Cameroon.

GCI offers two different internship programmes:

National Internship

This internship programme is designed for Cameroonian nationals who are either currently attending or have recently graduated university. It is a great opportunity for current students to gain experience in a professional, non-profit environment; for recent graduates, this internship is an ideal entry-point for a career in the human rights/non-profit sector. International Internship

Since 2007 interns from around the world have come to GCI to offer their skills, education, and passion for human rights to our projects and initiatives. This internship programme is an intense and highly rewarding endeavor for individuals with an educational and professional background in human rights work. Interns play an active role designing our initiatives and leading our projects; they also receive an intense immersion into Cameroonian law, politics, and social justice issues.
